Dental Materials Compatibility can be a concern for patients struggling with allergies and similar medical conditions. Since the 1800s, literally millions of patients have visited their dentist and received treatment without any side effects or health concerns related to Materials Compatibility, but here at Dr. Jacques’s Holistic Dentistry office, we put our patient’s concerns first. For patients concerned with Materials Compatibility, a blood test can be done. A holistic medical doctor would draw a blood sample from the patient, which would then be sent to a special lab. The droplets of blood would be added to various dental materials to determine whether or not an antibody antigen reaction was occurring – indicating whether that patient might have a sensitivity to a particular dental material.

While a Materials Compatibility blood test is quite reliable, some patients elect instead to use Applied Kinesiology – or Muscle Testing – in order to determine that the materials being used in the dental treatment are compatible with their body chemistry. Applied Kinesiology is widely practiced in the field of chiropractic.
